BIOANALYTIC

Exploring the Hidden Potential of Lab Automation in Current Bioscience Studies
Thursday, 14 SEPT 2023
11:40 – 13:10
Hall 106

Lab automation has transformed bioscience research in recent years by streamlining experiments and increasing the throughput of data generation. However, the potential of lab automation goes beyond the routine tasks of liquid handling, plate handling, sample management or data acquisition. In this workshops, we will showcase novel and undervalued faces of lab automation that can revolutionize current bioscience studies by improvement of their repeatability and standardization of procedures. For this purpose, we will try to present the complete workflow of laboratory automation, starting from simple sample homogenization, through automation of bioassays, up to automated microscopy analysis of this sample with the use of innovative lab equipment.

Precision Medicine Diagnostics
Thursday, 14 SEPT 2023
15:30 – 17:00
Hall 106

Precision drugs are a new approach to patient treatment that is more effective than applying the same principles to all patients. In this way, there is a demand for better diagnostic tools to enable physicians to make the right decisions. We would like to talk about a few dedicated solutions that are proving successful in precision medicine. We will start with micro-sampling of biological samples, through TDM of small molecules based on liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry. Finally, we present a solution for monitoring the concentration of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies, which are commonly used in the treatment of cancer and inflammatory diseases.

Use of mass spectrometry in bioscience
Friday, 15 SEPT 2023
11:40-13:10
Hall 106

Modern research in the filed of biology, medicine and related sciences requires instrumental methods that allow fast, reproducible and data-rich results. For both targeted and untargeted analysis tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) coupled with liquid chromatography (LC) and software tools, plays nowadays one of the major roles. The workshop will cover short introduction to LC-M/MS followed by presentation of selected examples of metabolomic, lipidomic and proteomic approaches and their application in research and routine analysis.

IRTECH

Stimulated emission depletion microscopy (STED)
Thursday, 14 SEPT 2023
11:40 – 13:10
Hall 108

Irtech and Abberior Instruments GMbH would like to invite you to a workshop on STED fluorescence super-resolution microscopy, which will take place on 14th September at 1:40 pm in Hall 108.
During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to see how the Abberior Instruments STEDyCON confocal and STED microscopes work and what are the advantages of using super-resolution microscopy techniques in biological research. You will be able to see various types of preparations, but also bring and test your own. We will help with their preparation, and if necessary, we can provide a ready set of secondary antibodies with appropriate dyes and embedding medium within a few days. Interested persons are asked to contact us at the following e-mail address: oskar@irtech.pl

BECTON DICKINSON

Catch the live flow – workshops on image-based sorting data analysis
Friday, 15 SEPT 2023
11:35 – 13:05
Hall 108

BD CellView™ Image Technology is a novel high-speed cell imaging technology that empowers scientists to answer previously out of reach biological questions by amplifying the power of cell sorting and analysis through real-time integration of image and flow data.
With BD SpectralFX™ Technology, researchers can achieve full-spectrum cell sorting, coupled with expanded performance enabled by a new modular optical architecture and system-aware algorithms, to perform high-parameter experiments within a simplified workflow.
During this workshop we would like to show you what are the advantages of using both technologies in sorting experiments and how they improve efficiency and quality of sorting by looking on examples od data quired with BD FACSDiscover S8 sorter.
